WisdomAI launches with $23M to bring agentic AI insights to business
Wisdom AI Inc., an artificial intelligence-powered business insights platform that uses AI agents to provide a deep understanding of company data, launched Wednesday with $23 million in seed funding led by Coatue Ventures.
Madrona, GTM Capital, The Anthology Fund, U First Capital and Latitude Capital also participated in the funding round.
The company says it looks to change how traditional business intelligence tools work by using generative AI in addition to a core component it calls Knowledge Fabric.
“Knowledge Fabric [is] a dynamic, interconnected map of your data ecosystem woven with essential business context,” Soham Mazumdar, co-founder and chief executive of WisdomAI, said in the announcement. “While highly automated, this fabric is continuously refined by your domain experts, the very people who understand your business best, adding the vital institutional knowledge AI alone can’t replicate.”
According to Mazumdar, Knowledge Fabric acts as connective tissue between vast lakes and warehouses of storage in modern business infrastructure, where valuable insights exist. Since much of this information is disconnected and lacks critical context, connecting with the very users who interact with it day to day provides it the mission-critical grounding it requires.
WisdomAI’s AI agents, which can take business questions from a marketing or sales performance dashboard, then sit atop the Knowledge Fabric and provide immediate answers. Or they can wait in the background and proactively alert users when customer churn patterns meet certain thresholds.
Most importantly, the platform tackles AI hallucinations by only using generative AI to produce business intelligence queries, not the creation of answers, Mazumdar told TechCrunch. AI hallucinations happen when a generative AI, particularly a large language model, produces a misleading answer and presents it as accurate.
“Ultimately, gen AI can hallucinate,” he said. “What we use gen AI to do is to write small little programs … that can query these different systems.”
As a result, if the AI makes a mistake, it might generate the wrong query that fails to pull the data needed. However, Mazumdar said the answer will not be faked because it’s pulled directly from company data.
Currently, WisdomAI provides three different autonomous AI agents, including the Knowledge Curation Agent, the Instant Answers Agent and the Proactive Insights Agent.
The Knowledge Curation Agent learns the business culture and unique knowledge context to build the Knowledge Fabric and keep it up to date. The Knowledge Fabric proactively creates relationships between data points by understanding how the business runs, capturing terminology, key performance indicators and behaviors.
The Instant Answers Agent works as a quick and accessible chat interface for users to get insights from company data without requiring technical skills. The Proactive Insights Agent works in the background, monitoring data, allowing a business to surface valuable trends and opportunities that might not be visible yet, or warn about problems on the horizon.
The company said it already has customers such as ConocoPhillips Co., Cisco Systems Inc. and Rubrik Inc.
