Breach containment company Illumio Inc. today announced a new collaboration with Nvidia Corp. to help critical infrastructure organizations strengthen protection and advance their zero trust posture.

The collaboration integrates the Nvidia BlueField networking platform with Illumio’s breach containment platform to deliver security and operational efficiency across converged information technology and operational technology environments.

With the integration, critical infrastructure organizations can now deploy Illumio directly on Nvidia BlueField to give security teams a comprehensive view of network dependencies and precise security controls at both the host and network level. Organizations also gain deep visibility into traffic, can protect critical assets and use Nvidia BlueField data processing units as effective zero trust enforcement points. Illumio says that dramatically simplifies the protection of critical systems and ensures operational continuity while meeting stringent compliance requirements.

Key benefits include enhanced visibility and policy enforcement for traffic between IT and OT layers, made possible through Illumio’s flexible labeling on Nvidia BlueField. The approach allows organizations to fully understand system communication and safeguard critical assets across their infrastructure.

The integration also allows for the rapid deployment of zero trust segmentation into OT and industrial control systems environments, simplifying complexity and speeding up time to value. Additionally, improved compliance and operational resilience are achieved by identifying assets, monitoring traffic and enforcing policies across converged IT/OT systems.
