Flashpoint debuts AI features to streamline search and reporting workflows

Business risk intelligence startup Flashpoint today announced the release of two new artificial intelligence-powered capabilities – AI Summarization for Search and AI Summarization for Investigations.

The capabilities provide what the company says is a force multiplier for threat analysts and security teams to accelerate investigations while enabling confident, intelligence-led decisions faster. The new releases are part of Flashpoint’s approach to AI that is rooted in how threat intelligence is used by real analysts in high-stakes environments.

The company says its AI design, investment and integration strategy is guided by four key principles: delivering clear customer value aligned with priority intelligence requirements, enhancing its industry-leading data collections and supporting rather than replacing human expertise. Additionally, its AI must be trustworthy and transparent, allowing users to trace insights back to the original data.

AI Summarization for Search is, as the company puts it, like having a trusted analyst working alongside you, distilling thousands of posts into clear, actionable insight in seconds. The new feature brings generative AI directly into analysts’ threat research workflows. Using the new feature, Flashpoint customers can now generate concise, footnoted summaries of entire discussions from dark web forums, chat platforms and social networks.

The new service helps identify key trends, threat actors, top sources and tactics, techniques and procedures with speed and clarity. It also enhances reporting by enabling teams to drop footnoted summaries directly into internal briefings or stakeholder updates, with each summary backed by metadata and source references to ensure accuracy and build confidence.

The second release, AI Summarization for Investigations, offers automation that transforms investigations from an evidence-collection point into a dynamic, insight-generating engine. The new feature automatically produces concise, reference-backed summaries of the key findings from data saved within an investigation.

It’s built directly into the Investigations module in Ignite, Flashpoint’s collaborative workspace, where users collect, organize and collaborate on findings across the Ignite platform. Users can regenerate summaries as new items are added and export the summary as a standalone report or as a part of a broader export.

The feature streamlines reporting by reducing manual effort, enhancing clarity and enabling fast, repeatable sharing of findings across teams. Reference-backed summaries stay up to date as investigations evolve and can be easily exported in PDF or CSV formats for briefings and reviews.

“Security professionals today are drowning in data but starving for insight,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Josh Lefkowitz. “As threats become more complex and AI is weaponized by adversaries, defenders must adopt AI tools that enhance, not replace, analyst workflows. Our latest Ignite AI-powered capabilities are purpose-built to distill noise into clarity, helping teams prioritize action and respond with speed.”

The launch of AI Summarization for Search and Investigations is the first step on a broad roadmap from Flashpoint to embed intelligent automation more deeply across the threat intelligence lifecycle. Throughout the remainder of this year, the company plans to continue expanding its generative AI capabilities across search, investigation, reporting and alerting workflows, helping analysts reach conclusions faster while reducing the manual work that slows them down.
