Data security provider Druva Inc. today announced the launch of Dru MetaGraph, a graph-powered foundation for real-time metadata intelligence, plus two new DruAI Agents that help customers uncover insights, simplify decision-making and act more quickly across cyber, compliance and operational workflows.
The first new offering, Dru MetaGraph, has been designed to address the issue that backup intelligence has typically been limited to static dashboards and siloed reports. That puts the burden on teams to piece together insights across multiple tools or wait for days or weeks until data analysts could pull the appropriate information. The new offering changes that by making all backup metadata queryable, contextual and actionable for artificial intelligence.
Dru MetaGraph aggregates all backup metadata, such as file attributes, permissions, identity information and privacy data, into a secure metadata layer combined with graph intelligence. The service eliminates the need to extract, transform and load backup metadata into separate systems before it can be analyzed by making metadata immediately usable for AI inside the Druva platform, with end-to-end encryption and tenant-level isolation.
The architecture within Dru MetaGraph provides a single, queryable foundation for AI insights. The offering also works with DruAI Agents to give customers the ability to analyze metadata relationships and context in real time and, in doing so, pinpoint risks, streamline compliance reporting and improve operational efficiency.
DruAI Agents, which the company launched in August, are being expanded with the addition today of two new agents — Dru Insights Agent and Dru Lifecycle Agent.
Dru Insights Agent delivers real-time intelligence directly into dashboards and reports, processing data into clear, prioritized insights. Users can view at-a-glance summaries of the most important risks, anomalies and trends instead of scanning dozens of charts or alerts, along with recommended next steps to address them before issues escalate.
Dru Lifecycle Agent gives organizations the ability to analyze metadata across the entire data lifecycle, from creation to archive, and use those insights to take targeted actions on their data. Teams can quickly pinpoint stale or noncompliant data, surface orphaned accounts before they become risk vectors and enforce retention policies at scale using natural language queries.
The Lifecycle Agent also allows teams to turn queries into ongoing visualizations and dashboards. After responding to a query, DruAI can present the option for users to view results as a chart that can be pinned to their dashboard for future use. The result allows users to build personalized views of their dashboards, refresh them over time and create a dynamic, customizable workspace for monitoring compliance, risk or operational trends.
“Enterprises understand they have a collection of rich metadata captured in their backups, but they’ve struggled to make any use of it,” said Johnny Yu, research manager of Infrastructure Software Platforms at International Data Corp. “By combining software-as-a-service-native architecture, tenant-specific data graphs and AI agents, Druva is addressing longstanding challenges of siloed metadata and complex pipelines, turning backup into a dynamic intelligence layer and shifting it from an insurance policy to playing an active role in resilience, compliance and decision-making.”
