CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. today announced major innovations in identity and data security to wrap up its annual Fal.con 2025 event, with new capabilities designed to address the risks created by hybrid environments and the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence.
The announcements, which build on the company’s Falcon platform, are aimed at closing persistent gaps left by legacy identity and data protection tools.
First up today is the launch of Falcon Next-Gen Identity Security, a suite of capabilities that is designed to secure every identity across every stage of an attack, from initial access and privilege escalation to lateral movement.
The service differs from traditional identity and access management and privileged access management systems, which CrowdStrike argues are insufficient even when paired with multifactor authentication. The new offering integrates real-time telemetry to make smarter access decisions and prevent common bypass techniques.
The new offering includes a new FalconID service that provides phishing-resistant, passwordless authentication built on FIDO2 standards. The service is complemented with enhanced privileged access controls that simplify complex Active Directory and Entra ID configurations and allow teams to automate grants and revocations through tools such as Microsoft Teams and Fusion SOAR.
An identity-driven case management system also automatically correlates detections into Falcon Next-Gen SIEM cases with full context to streamline investigations and enable faster, coordinated responses across security teams.
CrowdStrike also today introduced a new approach to data protection built for the AI era, aimed at consolidating fragmented data loss protection and data security posture management tools and delivering real-time visibility across the movement of data.
The Falcon Data Protection enhancements extend security beyond browser environments to cover local applications and runtime cloud workloads, preventing inadvertent exposure of sensitive information as organizations integrate generative AI into their operations.
The system adds discovery capabilities to identify hidden AI applications and agents running across the enterprise. It also leverages AI-powered classification to better detect sensitive data types and provides insider threat dashboards with unified detections to accelerate responses.
The combination of the features into a single, integrated platform allows customers to achieve stronger protection for the data used by generative AI tools. At the same time, the company says, it also simplifies operations, reducing blind spots and improving detection coverage by a factor of 10 compared with legacy systems.
Today’s announcements follow others made by CrowdStrike on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, the company announced new products that address the growing need for enhanced security in the age of artificial intelligence: the Agentic Security Platform and the Agentic Security Workforce. On Wednesday, CrowdStrike announced Falcon for IT Risk-based Patching and Threat AI.
