Artificial intelligence sales startup AnyTeam Inc. said today it’s launching its platform in early access after closing on a $10 million seed funding round that attracted interest from numerous investors.
The round was led by SignalFire and saw participation from Crosslink Capital and a long list of more than 40 individual angel investors, including executives from companies including Google LLC’s parent Alphabet Inc., Salesforce Inc. and Elastic N.V.
They’re betting on AnyTeam because it has built what it says is the world’s first “AI-native sales operating system,” and it’s designed to transform the lives of sales professionals by automating various aspects of their work, with a particular focus on the bothersome tasks that prevent them from actually selling.
AnyTeam says these tasks are significant time killers, with the average sales representative spending up to 70% of their time on preparing for meetings, creating presentations and related activities. These tasks are costly for their employers too, with quarterly sales expenses amounting to anywhere between 25% and 60% of their total expenditures, translating to to hundreds of millions in operational overhead for public companies.
Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer Jeff Yoshimura said the problem is that most go-to-market tools today are built for management and operations teams, and ignore the people who do the actual selling. “Revenue is the most important function in every organization, yet scaling B2B sales remains fundamentally broken,” he said.
With its AI-native sales OS, AnyTeam hopes to change this. It operates as an always-on, context-aware application that provides proactive guidance before, during and after every customer interaction. Unlike traditional software-as-a-service platforms, it runs AI at the edge, locally on user’s devices, ensuring lightning-fast responsiveness.
The three main components include an account agent that provides comprehensive insights into each sales prospect and customer, a call companion that provides live meeting intelligence and guidance in real-time throughout each sales call, and a sales studio. That last is a tool for creating customized sales collateral on-demand, based on user data sources.
The AnyTeam OS can integrate into various third-party applications, including calendars, email platforms, customer relationship management platforms and messaging tools like Slack, enabling contextual awareness of each conversation, appointment and sales lead. This enables it to automate many routine tasks that sales people would otherwise have to do manually, preparing them for their next interactions so they can get straight to it.
AnyTeam’s other co-founder, Chief Executive Ajay Arora, said the company’s platform is designed to “take the work out of work” and give sales people real-time support so they can build more authentic customer relationships. “Our AI-native OS approach empowers sales professionals to become ‘full-stack AEs,’ equipping them with the superpowers to execute what they do best, selling and serving customers,” he said.
