There is a widening readiness gap when it comes to enterprise adoption of AI for critical systems and data quality.
This was one of the findings contained in the just-released “2025 Data Trust Report: Financial Services Edition,” issued by the data governance company Ataccama Corp. The report noted that only 3% of banks surveyed had managed to scale AI, despite 99% exploring the technology.

Findings such as these highlight the importance of data quality, according to Jay Limburn (pictured, right), chief product officer of Ataccama, whose company has released an agentic data trust platform to deliver a greater level of confidence in AI initiatives.
“With our agentic data trust platform, we’ve built an integrated platform that brings together all of the different parts that you need to provide trust to your data,” Limburn said. “Not only is it an integrated data trust platform using our own AI agentic capabilities, we’ve then built an AI agent that simplifies and automates a huge amount of the work across that platform. It’s bringing together all these different kinds of data management concepts into a unified platform with purpose then to deliver trust in those AI initiatives, making those things string together really, really well.”
Limburn spoke with theCUBE’s Rob Strechay (left) for an exclusive conversation with theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Ataccama’s focus on agentic AI is helping companies across a range of industries derive value from data. (* Disclosure below.)
The Ataccama ONE AI Agent is powered by external knowledge and the company’s tools, using a dedicated OpenAI large language model. Limburn noted that Ataccama’s platform is based on true agentic solutions rather than co-pilot technology.
“Co-pilots are great but still require you to instruct it and tell it how to solve the problem,” Limburn said. “What we’ve built in Ataccama is a true agentic platform whereby you can give it abstract commands, you can ask it to go and solve a complex problem, and it will go through that thinking process … and then deliver that task for you. It’s hard, and the true agentic path really helps you solve that.”
Data platforms are evolving, with innovative solutions that bring structured and unstructured data together. As SiliconANGLE’s research team has noted, Ataccama ONE marks an important step in the unification of data quality, observability, lineage and governance, which had previously been only applicable to structured data.
“If we’re looking at that data, we can actually use our agent and we can say, ‘Hey, describe this table to me, improve its quality and generate a report out of that data,’” Limburn explained. “All of that is based on effectively one prompt. That’s where the power of these true agents really comes in, because it truly does automate how you can use that data and automate the tasks associated with it to get you to a higher value outcome.”
Ataccama’s work to provide tools that enable data trust has opened new doors across a wide range of enterprises, Limburn added. The company is finding traction in a variety of use cases among industry verticals.
“The good thing about being in the data business is it kind of transcends across different industries,” Limburn said. “Everyone is working with data. It is true to the data hungry industries – financial services, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals. It’s those key use cases in those industries where we’re starting to see a lot more of that kind of agentic capability relying on some of those trusted outcomes in data where it’s really taken off.”
