Private capital market intelligence company PitchBook Data Inc. today announced the upcoming launch of PitchBook Navigator, a generative artificial intelligence tool that delivers private capital market insights through natural-language prompts directly within the PitchBook Platform.
The new Navigator service, which is planned to be available to PitchBook users later this month, will allow users to ask natural-language questions and instantly surface insights on companies, deals and market trends powered by PitchBook’s data and proprietary AI and Human Insights methodology. PitchBook says that its approach pairs advanced AI with human expertise to ensure that every response is fast, objective and backed by accurate and timely data.
At launch, Navigator will deliver data and research across companies, transactions and market themes to accelerate deal sourcing, due diligence and market analysis. Over time, PitchBook plans to expand the service to include the full scope of PitchBook’s data, insights and intellectual property.
Early beta testers have been positive on Navigator, according to PitchBook, which cited a chief operating officer at an enterprise business development company saying that “the detailed references to the source data and links to source information is helpful” and that it is “very easy to verify that the data presented is accurate.”
PitchBook also today announced forthcoming Model Context Protocol connector integration with OpenAI Group PBC that allows PitchBook subscribers to securely access its proprietary private market data within ChatGPT.
With the integration, PitchBook subscribers will be able to surface PitchBook’s insights through secure, conversational prompts with ChatGPT, without the need to switch platforms or cross-check sources. The integration will allow users to surface premium, high-quality data while enhancing the accuracy and trustworthiness of AI-driven financial analysis.
“AI is transforming every corner of business and after nearly two decades building the foundation of reliable, comprehensive data, PitchBook is uniquely positioned to lead this new era of private market intelligence,” said Thomas Van Buskirk, executive vice president of technology and engineering at PitchBook. “By embedding advanced AI in our platform and building integrations, we’re delivering trusted, data-driven insights faster than ever, empowering investors to make confident decisions grounded in PitchBook’s proven data integrity and innovative technology.”
Both announcements today are part of PitchBook’s AI roadmap that focuses on three core areas: data collection technology, in-platform experiences and strategic partnerships and integrations.
