Alyson Welch, CRO at Reltio, talks to theCUBE about the importance of trusted data at Google Cloud Next 2026 AI

‘You can’t make great decisions without good data’: How fragmented data blocks enterprise AI success

Without trusted data as the foundation, even the most sophisticated models will produce outcomes that enterprises can’t act on with confidence.

As a matter of fact, enterprises are paying a steep price because of fragmented, problematic data stores, according to Alyson Welch (pictured), chief revenue officer at Reltio Inc., a cloud-native master management company. Organizations across healthcare, life sciences and financial services are now learning the hard way that AI agents produce untrustworthy outcomes when data lacks the contextual relationships machines need to reason accurately.

“You can’t really put those [agents] into production without ensuring that you’re compliant,” Welch said. “If you’re a financial institution or in the healthcare market and dealing with drug discovery … you cannot put out an AI agentic layer without knowing that that data that it resolves is going to be accurate and compelling.”

Welch spoke with theCUBE’s John Furrier and co-host Alison Kosik at Google Cloud Next, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Reltio’s context intelligence platform is helping enterprises achieve trusted data across AI agents and business applications. (* Disclosure below.)

Trusted data powers context intelligence

Reltio’s newest release takes direct aim at the operational bottlenecks slowing enterprise AI adoption. The update introduces AgentFlow Unstructured, which extracts and governs data trapped in PDFs, documents and other unstructured formats, alongside a new Profiler agent that inspects source data before ingestion and an Agent Builder that lets teams create, test and publish custom agents within a governed workflow. For chief data officers juggling risk and regulatory compliance simultaneously, the pitch is straightforward: less manual data stewardship, more time for the work that actually moves the business, according to Welch.

“[There are] demands on having high-quality data to leverage the models in order to produce great results,” she said. “You can’t make great decisions without good data.”

Reltio’s pending acquisition by SAP SE will keep it operating as a standalone business, supporting both SAP and non-SAP data environments. It’s a deliberately agnostic positioning that’s core to the company’s value proposition as enterprises continue to maneuver through multi-cloud, multi-application data landscapes, Welch noted. That dynamic is already playing out among Reltio’s existing customer base.

“I’m finding companies that have been around for a long time have historic amounts of data,” she said. Those that are really interested in reinvesting in their business, they’re harvesting that data in new ways and coming up with new customer strategies, [new] market strategies.”
