HR software startup HiBob raises $166M after annualized revenue tops $400M

HiBob Inc., the developer of a popular cloud-based human resources platform, today announced that it has raised $166 million in funding.

Salesforce Inc. provided most of the capital. It was joined by Farallon Capital, which led HiBob’s previous raise at a $2.7 billion valuation. CTech reported that the software maker is now worth $3.2 billion.

HiBob’s HR platform enables companies to store their workforce data in a centralized repository. A second, smaller database called Bob Skills tracks the internal know-how available to an organization. For example, an HR team could use the feature to determine how many employees possess advanced data science skills. Such information can ease certain hiring and worker training decisions.

Recruiters can use an artificial intelligence automation tool built into HiBob to generate job descriptions. The platform posts listings across more than 2,300 job boards. Once the applications start coming in, HiBob’s built-in AI generates CV summaries.

The platform also speeds up certain related tasks. HiBob provides a prepackaged careers page complete with a tool for processing employee referrals. Companies can customize the page with their branding before integrating it into their websites.

According to HiBob, a simulation tool enables HR teams to forecast the impact of hiring initiatives. The feature estimates how a planned workforce expansion will change a company’s organizational structure and costs. HR can use information from simulations to fine-tune their recruiting plans.

Companies also use HiBob to manage interactions with existing workers. The platform includes an employee portal that displays company updates, outstanding work tasks and related content. Additionally, it serves as an employee training tool. HR teams can use HiBob to host internal learning materials and courses from third-party education providers.

An upcoming course suggestion feature will use AI to generate role-specific content recommendations. Furthermore, HiBob’s built-in machine learning models can generate new courses from scratch. Users who require more advanced AI capabilities can sync the HR data stored in the platform to external automation tools via a built-in MCP server.

“HiBob has built an impressive global people platform serving more than 5,500 customers, with a deep understanding of how organizations operate,” said Joe Teplow, chief strategy officer of Slack and senior vice president of Salesforce Labs. “This trusted foundation of workforce context makes AI more useful, relevant, and connected to how businesses actually operate.”

HiBob founder and Chief Executive Ronni Zehavi told CTech that the company’s annualized revenue topped $400 million ahead of the funding round. He added that the company currently has no plans to go public.
