A seamless and silent infrastructure for enterprise solutions | #VMworld

EMC Cloud Solutions set out with the vision of a seamless enterprise Cloud solution. But the critical questions include how has it worked to deliver on that vision and where is the company heading now?

Peter Cutts, VP of cloud solutions at EMC, talked with Dave Vellante of theCUBE, from the SilconANGLE Media team, during VMworld 2015 in San Francisco.

A unified cloud solution

The hybrid Cloud theme at VMworld has been a focal point, and according to Cutts, EMC Cloud Solutions has shown its customers that it can deliver applications, align with their security policies, and create a “holistic and inclusive offering,” something that allows for a high level of repeatability, cost savings and high customer satisfaction. While EMC has achieved notable success in the financial industry, it is also seeing success in education, healthcare and other fields.

Automation and self-service

The repeatability aspect is particularly impressive, as EMC Cloud Solutions has allowed many of the back-end processes to be automated. The implications of this have a huge impact on many industries that are shifting toward self-service and the need to create an individualized user experience. Cutts explained that EMC’s offerings allow applications to be deployed in that manner, where individuals are driving the application experience and businesses don’t have to worry about how that happens as they’ve taken care of that automation.

Taking the worry out of infrastructure

EMC Cloud Solutions offers a single suite for enterprise-level Cloud operation for applications offline. Cutts emphasized that it takes the worry away from the infrastructure, making it a silent and seamless partner to developers and businesses as a whole. He sees the company eventually producing a full suite for application development, from initial concept all the way to deployment in a Cloud-ready way that’s customizable. This customization would allow each client’s needs to be met with regard to security, data policies and even back-up requirements.
