Microsoft Appoints New Head for Xbox, Office Division
After having to see the former head of their Office division being snatched by Nokia only to become their CEO, Microsoft rushes straight into filling the vacancy by hiring one of their own – Kurt DelBene, an executive with 18 years of experience with the corporation.
“DelBene is an 18-year Microsoft veteran. He led engineering and development for Microsoft’s business software division, which includes Office, SharePoint and other programs.”
A dedicated veteran, more than enough experience working on the Office pack throughout the years; these are just some of the notable characteristics the new head of one of the Microsoft’s most important divisions. Nonetheless, with what the corporation’s plans for Microsoft Office, no one can forget the huge amount of responsibility so strikingly dropped on DelBene just now.
In addition to the two extra promotions of Andy Lees to president of Microsoft’s mobile business, and Don Mattrick as the president of the video games group, the company has even more things under way.
With the rather fresh releases of several significant product updates, a new and improved ground-breaking (most) powerful Office pack available for Mac, serious integration with several web apps and major steps towards deals with governmental sectors, it certainly looks like Kurt DelBene will be very busy in the near future.
