While many expected Kinect to turn off many customers due to its exceedingly high price, it’s just not the case. This is proven by an anticipation of Kinetic shortage this Christmas for the demands are “exceedingly high.”
“Pre-orders have demonstrated that there is exceptional consumer excitement and demand for Kinect, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Kinect for Xbox 360 is available for the Christmas season,” said Microsoft in a statement.
Microsoft named the price at nearly $200, and that does not include the Xbox. To those who have already invested on traditional consoles like Wii and PlayStation Move, this is pretty uneasy. Kinect is a game minus the controllers, and uses camera connected to the Xbox to translate movements by players into on-screen action. See

Websites like Game and Play.com has disposed all of their allocated Kinetic units, as the product goes on sale this Nov 10. Play.com said in a note that Kinetic ““are extremely limited” and Microsoft allocates units to stores, with an average of one unit per person.
“Therefore, we cannot guarantee to ship your order for launch,” warns Play.com. “Orders of Kinect [including the bundled game Kinect Adventures] are strictly limited to one per customer.”
An additional allocation is expected by retailers to be sold in-store in a first come, first serve basis prior to the official launch on Nov 10. Hopefully this is a glimmer of hope for gamers that have been awaiting the console upgrade for the better part of the year. Microsoft’s got a lot on its plate right now, especially moving towards the holiday season. Windows Phone 7 is just another project the company must handle, while seeking massive gains with so many product roll outs in one year.
