Appcelerator and PayPal Platform: Easy Mobile Commerce

The enhancement of the PayPal is the aim of the coalition between Appcelerator and iPad applications using web technologies. The partnership includes the integration of PayPal system on a mobile platform, entitled Titanium+Commerce, to ease the online merchants’ purchasing process.

The first step for Titanium+Commerce is to include PayPal’s Mobile Payment Library on top of Appcelerator’s Titanium development platform. The application will be available for testing at the beginning of 2011, enabling any merchant to customize their own branding and inventory. Although, a free trial version will be available starting today.

The B Series funding led by Sierra Leads at $9 million will aim at the enhancing of Appcelerator’s platform. The company is the second largest apple app store publisher. The Appcelerator’s CEO, Jeff Haynie said that “Appcelerator will continue to expand our platform offering across the major operating systems and devices”.
