HP-Zynstra team up to create hybrid platform solution | #HPEDiscover
As small businesses and large enterprises scale larger and larger, they must look for more effective and efficient means of data storage. Whether they want a cloud-based or on-premise solution, HPE has created exactly what they are looking for, according to Peter Schrady, senior VP and GM, ProLiant Servers, at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co.
Schrady and Nick East, co-founder and CEO at Zynstra Ltd., talked with Dave Vellante (@dvellante) and Paul Gillin (@pgillin), co-hosts of theCUBE*, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, during the HPE Discover 2016 event about hybrid storage solution. (*Disclosure below)
The hybrid solution
As businesses across the globe look for more effective means of storing their data, HP and Zynstra have teamed up to create a hybrid platform solution. The ProLiant Easy Connect is a hybrid storage server that allows companies to store data on premise or send it to the cloud, according to East.
The Easy Connect is “a true hybrid solution for education or remote offices,” said Schrady. It is an innovation for HPE and wraps hardware and software into a “simple and small” package, he added.
Making the impact
By partnering with Zynstra, HPE is able to deliver a virtualized platform that’s easy to use and can be distributed across multiple sites, East explained. A platform that is identical across sites is like having a “distributed data center” and allows for easy management and access, he added.
The hybrid structure that HPE is providing also means its system is more secure, according to Schrady. The resources aren’t so widely distributed, making the “attack surface smaller,” he stated. The Easy Connect securely connects to any in-house data stack when companies want to back up their data on-premise.
Looking Ahead
HPE is only getting started with its hybrid data solutions. As companies scale up and use more data, “HPE will also scale to meet the appropriate need,” said Schrady. The market for Easy Connect is vast, and the demand for an efficient storage solution is high.
Zynstra is a company that delivers “bulletproof software that just works,” according to East, and its partnership with HPE will only strengthen that core value.
HPE provides a premier customer experience by growing their “products, geographic expansion and partnerships,” Schrady concluded.
