Some argue that technology geared for agility depends on an agile business culture of employees ready to use it. Does this mean a company must make its secretaries into data analysts and coders or else get left behind in the new digital world?
It doesn’t, as long as companies democratize easy-to-use software across their organizations, according to Rick Willett (pictured, right), chairman and chief executive officer of Quick Base Inc.
“We’re empowering folks with a no-code platform to continuously change their work environment to be able to drive business agility,” Willett told Sam Kahane (@Sam_Kahane) of theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s mobile live streaming studio, during the Empower 2017 event in Boston, Massachusetts. While the Digital Age poses challenges to an organization — exploding data, application sprawl, security threats and the eternal developer shortage — the flip side is that it can help solve some of these same problems, according to Willett.
Quick Base application development technology brings decision-making closer to the customer and closer to work itself, Willett explained. This injects agility into a company so it can innovate and grow faster, he added.
To give backup to this claim, Willett threw out some data: “The average Quick Base client grows faster and has higher stock price growth than the S&P 500,” he said. Clients with at least 10 percent of their employers actively using Quick Base see even bigger wins: Four-and-half times quicker growth and doubly fast stock appreciation, Willett added.
At the event’s second keynote session, Willett joined four customers from diverse industries to discuss how they use Quick Base.
The goal is to show how Quick Base benefits customers across a broad spread of organizations, according to Willett. This flexibility is the reason he’s so bullish about the company’s future, he explained.
“We’re going to own the no-code platform space. We’re going to own empowering everybody to be able to solve business problems using software,” he concluded.
