

Market intelligence startup Crunchbase Inc. today unveiled an integration with Salesforce Inc. that enables individuals and teams to discover and act on high-quality prospects quickly.
The integration allows users of both Crunchbase’s free and Pro service to avoid spending time manually exporting prospects from Crunchbase into their customer relationship management applications.
Crunchbase users will now be able to conduct research and find prospects in a few clicks, allowing them to focus on selling rather than data entry. Any account saved from Crunchbase to Salesforce will be saved under a user’s name, enabling individual users to own and track their own accounts. The service also sends emails when a company has raised money to help users to stay on top of all their accounts.
“In the throes of tightening budgets and widespread layoffs, sales teams are facing a near-impossible challenge: close more deals, with less resources, in less time,” Arman Javaherian, head of product at Crunchbase, said in a blog post.
The new integration with Salesforce comes a month after Crunchbase rolled out a new profile experience designed to provide information needed without spending hours digging through databases and company websites.
Crunchbase, originally developed by TechCrunch in 2007, was rolled out as a separate company in September 2015. The company launched with funding of $8.5 million and has since raised two more rounds — $18 million in April 2017 and $30 million in October.
