ServiceNow partner Thirdera acquires Appoxio
Thirdera LLC., the largest pure-play ServiceNow Inc. partner, today announced that it has acquired user interface developer Appoxio Technologies Inc. to expand its business operations.
Publicly traded ServiceNow provides a popular cloud platform that is used by many enterprises’ information technology teams to manage their day-to-day work. In the last few years, the company has extended its platform’s feature set to several other departments besides IT. ServiceNow is also used by human resources departments, corporate finance groups and other teams at large organizations to support their operations.
Similarly to other major enterprise software-as-a-service providers, ServiceNow has a large ecosystem of partner companies. Those partners assist enterprises with implementing ServiceNow’s namesake platform in their operations. They help train employees on using the platform, build custom software to extend the built-in feature and provide other services.
Thirdera is the largest ServiceNow partner that focuses exclusively on the platform. The company was formed early this year through the merger of three established ServiceNow partners. Thirdera is led by Chief Executive Officer Jason Wojahn, former head of consulting giant Accenture plc’s ServiceNow practice, which he is credited with having grown to more than $350 million in annual revenue and 6,000-plus employees.
Calgary, Canada-based Appoxio, the firm that Thirdera acquired today, is also a ServiceNow partner. The firm specializes in designing user interfaces and user experience workflows for companies’ ServiceNow implementations. On its website, Appoxio says it has completed projects for multiple enterprises since launching in 2018.
One of Appoxio’s focus areas is helping companies build self-service employee portals on ServiceNow. ServiceNow-based employee portals can be used to provide workers with technical support articles and other information that they would normally have to request manually from the relevant department. Some companies also give employees the ability to perform more complex tasks within ServiceNow portals, such as submitting help desk tickets.
Alongside interface development services, Appoxio provides several pre-packaged ServiceNow software offerings. The firm has developed a tool that allows IT teams to receive updates on incidents such as application outages and track internal efforts to fix them through a mobile app. Appoxio also provides templates for building employee portals.
Appoxio’s approximately 40 staffers will join Thirdera following the acquisition. At Thirdera, they are set to become part of a newly formed business unit that the company says will focus on improving the user experience in organizations’ ServiceNow implementations. The unit will be known as 3D.
Appoxio’s user interface design offerings will complement the already extensive lineup of ServiceNow services provided by Thirdera. The company helps train enterprises’ employees in using ServiceNow, can manage their deployments on their behalf and also develops custom applications atop the platform. Moreover, Thirdera offers several pre-packaged software products that automate tasks such as detecting inefficient code in ServiceNow deployments.
“As part of Thirdera, 3D will break new ground in user experience design by focusing on the synthesis between humans and technology,” said Wojahn.
The acquisition’s financial terms were not disclosed. The deal comes a few months after the company announced the purchase of another ServiceNow partner, Australia-based professional services provider Service Line Solutions Pty Ltd.
