Quantyzd Inc. a maker of a scriptless automation platform for mobile app testing that does business as Sofy.ai, today introduced new features that it said eliminate the challenges of testing visual elements in mobile software applications.
Visual Match augments the company’s core testing platform by allowing testers to fine-tune click targets during testing, addressing what it said is one of the most complex issues in mobile app development.
That complexity is caused by the common use of user interface frameworks or libraries like React, Angular or Vue.js, which each handle state, updates and rendering differently. Developers must learn the intricacies of each framework to test visual elements.
The company said Visual Match allows click targets to be redefined automatically to enhance element selection accuracy, especially when traditional identifiers like XML paths are hidden under pop-ups or rapid screen transitions.
The product also provides an alternative to the Document Object Model, which is a programming interface for web documents that represents a page that can be used to change document structure, style and content. Visual Match provides a visual method to unlock development tools for automated testing of apps built on frameworks like the open-source Flutter and Jetpack Compose.
Sofy said the streamlined debugging process lets developers quickly identify and rectify issues related to styling, inheritance and specificity rules. They can also quickly preview and rectify layout inconsistencies to enable a consistent user experience across devices and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to visual elements.
Visual Match augments other features of Sofy’s testing platform that include a “swipe until” feature for device-agnostic scrolling, on-the-fly test script modifications, Boolean expressions for debugging conditions during code execution, support for dynamic “if… else statements” in test cases, the ability to upload app packages for testing across Android and iOS and test case templates for recording and reusing common steps.
