Data loss prevention and insider risk company Next DLP Ltd. today announced the launch of Secure Data Flow, a new capability within its Reveal Platform that tracks data’s origin, movements and modification to provide protection.
Secure Data Flow has been designed to overcome the limitations and complexities of legacy DLP solutions that rely on pattern matching, regular expression, keywords, tag and fingerprinting, which only cover a limited range of text-based data types. The new solution overcomes these limitations by complementing content and sensitivity classification-based approaches with origin-based data identification, manipulation, detection and data degree controls.
The net result, the company claims, is an all-encompassing, 100% effective, false-positive-free solution that simplifies the lives of security analysts.
“In current IT environments, Intellectual Property commonly resides in an organization’s SaaS applications and cloud data stores,” said John Stringer, head of product at Next DLP. “The risk here is that high-impact data in these locations cannot be easily identified based on its content. With Secure Data Flow, we help organizations protect their IP by capturing the data’s origin and using that information to track data movement and prevent data theft.”
Key benefits of Secure Data Flow include the protection of vital business data from any software-as-a-service application, including from Salesforce Inc., Workday Inc., SAP SE and GitHub. By safeguarding sensitive information, the new capability provides a shield against potential data breaches and malicious theft, ensuring that a company’s intellectual property remains secure.
The new release includes a comprehensive data tracking system that not only prevents accidental data loss but also fortifies a business against malicious threats for peace of mind.
The service also offers “insightful investigations” that allow security analysts to delve into data origin, manipulation and lineage with precise detail. Doing so makes it easier to identify and report on data security risks with context and accuracy, ensuring that any issues are promptly and thoroughly addressed.
With Secure Data Flow, Next DLP is claiming to set a new standard for data protection, with a solution that is both powerful and easy to use. The end game is to ensure that organizations can confidently protect their most critical data assets, regardless of their location or application.
