Hybrid cloud solutions redefine enterprise IT with automation and AI innovation
Hybrid cloud solutions are transforming enterprise IT landscapes by bridging private and public cloud environments with unprecedented flexibility and efficiency.
As organizations prioritize interoperability and automation, innovations such as license portability and streamlined deployments are addressing key challenges while unlocking new opportunities for growth. These advancements not only simplify cloud adoption, but also position enterprises to harness emerging technologies such as generative AI, paving the way for a future driven by adaptability and innovation, according to Ahmar Mohammad (pictured, right), vice president of partners, managed services and solutions GTM, VCF Division, at Broadcom Inc.
“At VMware by Broadcom, the strategy is very simple. We are a private cloud company, but we also believe in the model of you have customer choice, you can run that,” Mohammad said. “Allowing customer that flexibility to run that same stack on-prem or in the public cloud or combination of both in a hybrid environment, that’s exactly what we are enabling now.”
Mohammad and Steven Jones (left), general manager of commercial applications at Amazon Web Services Inc., spoke with theCUBE Research’s John Furrier for theCUBE’s “Cloud AWS re:Invent Coverage,” during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how hybrid cloud solutions are transforming enterprise IT by integrating private and public cloud environments, emphasizing flexibility, automation and innovation
Driving innovation through hybrid cloud solutions
The cloud industry is witnessing a significant shift as hybrid cloud models and customer-centric flexibility take center stage. With growing demand for interoperability across platforms such as VMware, AWS and SAP, organizations are gravitating toward solutions that emphasize ease of use and lower total cost of ownership, Jones pointed out.
“Customers want to be able to leverage all of these different software capabilities side by side,” he said. “Whether it’s SAP or it’s VMware or it’s something they’ve natively built right directly on AWS, they want to run it all together in the same location.”
VMware LLC, in partnership with AWS, has unveiled the Amazon Elastic VMware Service, a breakthrough offering designed to streamline cloud management while prioritizing customer flexibility. EVS allows users to run VMware Cloud Foundation stacks directly within their AWS Virtual Private Cloud, creating a more customer-managed environment, according to Mohammad.
“The economics work for the customers because they don’t have to refactor those application,” he said. “They can lift and shift as is to the EVS offering without having to figure out how to refactor without having to spend more money on those application. They can run as is and focus their dollars more toward innovation like gen AI.”
Automation plays a critical role in the EVS offering, simplifying deployment processes that previously required extensive manual configuration. Within just three hours, organizations can deploy their environments using intuitive workflows. The automation not only accelerates time-to-value, but also reduces the risk of human error, making it easier for enterprises to adapt to cloud-first models.
“They already have that and they can move that workload as is to that public cloud,” Mohammad said. “Customers do prefer that choice and that automation … that’s what EVS allows them to do. Provision that environment and then they can run their day two operations on their own.”
