Freshworks reports strong quarter with 22% revenue growth and earnings beat

Shares in Freshworks Inc. rose more than 6% in late trading today after the customer service and support software firm impressed investors with revenue and earnings beats in its fiscal 2024 fourth quarter.

For the quarter that ended on Dec. 31, Freshworks reported adjusted earnings per share of 14 cents, up from eight cents per share in the same quarter of 2023, on revenue of $194.6 million, up 22% year-over-year. Both figures were beats, as analysts had expected earnings per share of 10 cents on revenue of $189.5 million.

For the full fiscal year 2024, Freshworks reported adjusted earnings per share of 43 cents, up from 26 cents in 2023, on revenue of $720.4 million, up 21% year-over-year.

Freshworks saw its number of customers contributing more than $5,000 in annual recurring revenue grow to 22,558, up 11% year-over-year. The company’s customers are also sticking around, with Freshworks reporting a net dollar retention rate of 103%. Notable customer acquisitions in the fourth quarter included New Balance Athletics Inc., Rawlings Sporting Goods Company Inc., Sophos Group plc, Onfido Ltd. and Mesa Airlines Inc.

Other notable news in the fourth quarter included Freshworks signing a new strategic agreement with Unisys Corp. Freshworks also appointed Srinivasan Raghavan as chief product officer and Venkatesh Subramanian as senior vice president of product management for customer experience.

“Freshworks outperformed its previously provided estimates again in Q4 across all our key metrics,” Chief Executice Dennis Woodside said in the company’s earnings release. “Companies are leaving legacy vendors and coming to Freshworks for our uncomplicated, modern employee and customer experience service solutions.”

For its fiscal 2025 first quarter, Freshworks expects adjusted earnings per share of 12 to 14 cents on revenue of $190 million to $193 million. For the full year, the company expects adjusted earnings per share of 52 to 54 cents on revenue of $809 million to $821 million. At the midpoint, the full-year revenue outlook was ahead of the $813.5 million expected by analysts.
