OutSystems brings Agent Workbench to general availability for intelligent agent development

Low-code development platform company OutSystems Software em Rede S.A. today announced the general availability of OutSystems Agent Workbench, an offering designed to empower enterprises to unlock the business value of artificial intelligence and agentic systems.

Announced on stage at the OutSystems 2025 ONE Conference in Lisbon, the company’s annual conference, Agent Workbench comes at what OutSystems says is a pivotal moment: The vast majority of organizations are prioritizing the development of AI agents but are struggling with governance, security, integration and scalability challenges associated with building, deploying and orchestrating agents.

Agent Workbench is being pitched as the solution to these challenges by offering organizations a singular platform to create their agents with enterprise-grade security and control while allowing seamless integration into their existing infrastructure to speed up adoption and time to value.

“When applied strategically, agentic AI is one of the most powerful levers for enterprise innovation and transformation, empowering organizations to drive value faster, optimize workflows and bring legacy systems into the future,” explains OutSystems Chief Executive Officer Woodson Martin. “Agent Workbench provides enterprises with the infrastructure to achieve unprecedented results with agentic systems while maintaining critical observability and control.”

Agent Workbench launched in early access in July and participants reported various use cases.

Life science and clinical research company Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. used Agent Workbench to transform its customer support process, building an intelligent Customer Escalation Agent to interpret various unstructured data from customer interactions. The AI-driven approach eliminated the need for manual triaging and ensures issues are resolved faster.

U.K. small business landlord company The Arch Company Properties Ltd. used Agent Workbench to transform its digital operations from spreadsheet-driven processes to a centralized, agile digital platform. Using Agent Workbench, the company implemented a content classification agent that intelligently routes customer service inquiries, eliminating the need for manual, specialized classification.

OutSystems is a venture capital-backed startup that has raised $803 million over seven rounds, including a round of $150 million on a $10 billion valuation in February 2021. Investors in the company include Abdiel Capital Management LP, Tiger Global Management, Guidepost Growth Equity, Armilar Venture Partners SGPS SA, KKR & Co. Inc. and Goldman Sachs Investment Partners.
