Clearspring Finds New Sales Head as Executive Shuffle Continues

Clearspring, the operator of the AddThis social sharing and data analytics platform, hired a new executive to boost revenue generation. Lee Hoffman is now the senior vice president of sales for the company, according to an announcement that went public on Tuesday. Hoffman has 15 years of experience managing advertising and other marketing initiatives for various firms, and will be working out of Clearspring’s New York office.

“Clearspring tripled its revenues this past year, and it is continuing to grow quickly. Lee’s unique experience in sales, media and advertising will be a key asset in 2012,” said Peggy Fry, Clearspring’s Chief Revenue Officer. “Bryan’s extensive knowledge of the automotive market helps us hit a core target market. These hires add tremendous depth and breadth to our existing team.”

Hopefully Hoffman will help to increase this pace even more.  He managed to achieve this very same goal for Adify Media, which eventually became Cox Digital where he served as SVP of media sales. Before that he worked for AOL and a number of other tech-related firms.

Prior to hiring Hoffman, Clearspring had yet another big executive announcement. Ramsey McGrory, former head of Yahoo’s U.S. data and search team, has been selected as the social networking marketer’s new CEO.  The military and tech industry veteran is responsible for working towards accomplishing the same agenda as Hoffman’s, which is more growth for Clearspring. The previous management managed to carry that out in 2011.

A few months before McGrory was hired, back when co-founder Hooman Radfar was the chief exec, Clearspring received $20 million in venture capital from Institutional Venture Partners and all of its existing investors.  Clearspring’s undergone a major executive shift since the funding, and these VCs have also recognized the company’s growth, which has been expressing itself as more revenue fueled by a head start in the real-time analytics market.
