PivotLink debuts ReadiMetrix, in-the-cloud Business Analytics for Sales, Marketing & Human Capital Management

image CEO Quentin Gallivan’s blog explains PivotLink’s vision for the New Saas (Software as a Service) Business Intelligence (BI): using Reporting, Dashboards and Analytics Software moved from desktop or server-based, to off-premise BI cloud computing on a day-to-day basis.  BI tools are leaving the hands of the few at the top level and going to the hands of the many who will use operational metrics for organizational performance.

At the busy PivotLink booth at the Gartner BI Summit 2010, Gallivan’s vision was supported by attendees and analysts:

Business users are yearning for tools that will allow them to explore and analyze their data independently without waiting for IT.

IT won’t resist something that makes business users more effective while reducing their workload.

The New BI will help build a bridge between IT and the line of business thereby driving rapid cultural changes.

Findings from the new "Wisdom of Crowds" Business Intelligence Market Study™ by Dresner Advisory Services, LLC reveal a dramatic shift away from traditional on-premise Business Intelligence (BI) software in favor of solutions from "Emerging" BI vendors, such as PivotLink. The study of 457 business and Information image Technology (IT) professionals ranks 15 leading companies’ products, with PivotLink users confirming a 100% recommendation and other top ratings as compared to peers and the overall sample.  The unsponsored study was led by industry expert, author and former Gartner Research Fellow Howard Dresner, one of the foremost thought leaders in Business Intelligence and Performance Management.

With cloud computing growing in acceptance, ReadiMatrix Sales, Marketing and Human Capital Management each offer easy-to-deploy, industry best practice metrics and analyses, using customers’ own data.  The family of ReadiMetrix products connect with salesforce.com, NetSuite and WorkDay, as well as more traditional applications.  SaaS and BI have formed a hybrid, allowing new functionality that traditional apps could not do before, extending analytics to enterprise supply chains as an example. The outdoor sporting goods equipment chain REI extends its reports to vendors, so vendors selling in REI get daily reports on how things are selling.  There must, however, be support from the top to the bottom in a company, so that all have a vision of how analytics can accomplish an organization’s goals, and each part of data that the business needs access to must be made available.

It’s a huge culture shift away from expensive custom programs, using lower cost, cloud technology. pre-packaged analytical applications with dashboards, metrics, reports and KPIs to manage business functionality.

Gallivan has more than 20 years of leadership in the hi-tech industry, and has held a variety of senior executive positions with market leading companies such as Postini, VeriSign, Netscape and the General Electric Company. Under Quentin’s leadership, Postini became the market leader in secure messaging and compliance solutions delivered on-demand and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Postini reached large operational scale with over 35,000 customers, over 10 million users in 25 countries. Postini became highly profitable with a diversified customer base and strong customer renewal rates and was sold to Google for $625M in September of 2007. Gallivan joined PivotLink in 2008.

PivotLink is social media savvy, publishes a blog and has a presence on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
