Mophie Pulse Brings Shake, Rattle, and Roll to the iPod Touch

215527-mophie-pulse_180 Casual gamers may like the ability to play video games on the go with their iPod Touch, but they may not know that they’re missing out on something—on particular sense—touch itself. By this I’m not talking about the ability to touch the screen, but the ability to get feedback from the game itself. That’s where the Mophie Pulse comes in: adding haptic response to iPod Touch.

A new iPod accessory-case aimed at gamers brings us stereo sound and provides some rumble feedback while you’re playing games. It’s called the Mophie Pulse. This full aluminum finish case sports a soft rubbery material on the back for gripping and is sure to enhance gameplay.

The Mophie Pulse acts as a cover for your iPad Touch, wrapping around the device and adding a couple buttons—but it also adds a few tiny rumble motors that can interface with your games and give a little buzz and wiggle to them that you’d otherwise miss out on. Mophie is best known for an iPhone battery product—another case product called the Juice Pack that acts as an external battery.

Some have mentioned that the new Pulse is a little bit too bulky, as it adds to the size of the iPod Touch, but that may just be a sacrifice for better gaming. The iPod Touch is already pretty small in the hand and having more to grip onto for some games might actually be a boon.

Presented at CES 2011, the Mophie Pulse has a short review by Cali Lewis from GeekBeat.tv.
