Networking and storage company QLogic has announced it has appointed Jean Hu as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Hu brings 18 years of financial and strategic corporate development experience in the IT industry to QLogic.
“Hu has over 18 years of financial and corporate development experience which includes her most recent position as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Conexant Systems, a semiconductor communications systems solution company.”
Hu held a number of executive positions related to her area, at a number of major tech companies. Among them is Conexant and its predecessor company Rockwell International, where she’d worked since 1997. Hu will report directly to company president and chief executive Simon Biddiscombe.
In addition to just staffing however, QLogic has made several other strides in these past few days. This was most notable in the storage space, in light of the company’s new team-up with Huawei Symantec. QLogic has entered an OEM agreement with the network security solutions provider, who will now offer Logic’s 5800 Series stackable switches and 9000 Series core switches for Fibre Channel Fabrics. Both of these products put a very strong emphasis on scalability and subsequent cost efficiency.
Major staffing changes seem to be especially notable lately in the IT enterprise space. For instance, while QLogic hired an executive Cisco on the other hand recently dismissed 2 execs. Nawaf Bitar, Cisco’s former vice president of security engineering and operations, and now serves as VP and GM of Emerging Technologies at Juniper Networks. Cisco also dismissed SVP of and general manager of the Collaboration Software Group Debra Chrapty, who now works at Zynga.
Apple also made some high rank changes recently, particularly when it comes to its new North Carolina datacenter set to become one of the biggest ones on the globe. Kevin Timmons, formerly head of Microsoft’s data center business, is now spearheading Apple’s initiative.
