Glass Explorers were delighted with the news that they can swap their old Google Glasses for a new version later this year, as well as invite three of their friends to become Explorers. But that’s not all, as Google is said to be gearing up to launch a dedicated online store for Google Glass accessories.
Some developers have already seen the store and the page shows Google is selling an extra Mono Earbud for $50, Clear Shield for $75, extra cable and charger for $50, and an extra pouch for $50.
Though this is good news for Explorers, some think the prices of these accessories are too expensive.
In the future, the accessory store is expected to feature shades and shields from Maui Jim and Zeal Optics.
For now, it seems only Glass Explorers can visit the site glass.google.com/getglass and see the accessory store. But it is expected that the store will launch later today.
It is also expected that Google will be revealing new devices as a Halloween treat today. According to previous reports, Google will officially launch Android 4.4 Kit Kat, Nexus 5 and the Google smartwatch dubbed as Gem.
In previous leaks, it is said that the Nexus 5 will feature a 5.0” IPS TFT display with a resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels, 32GB internal storage – it was not specified if there will be other variants.
The Nexus 5 will also come with 2GB RAM, a 2,3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, an 8MP OIS rear camera, a 1.3MP front camera, a Lithium-ion polymer 2300mAh battery, and sensors such as an Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Proximity/Ambient Light, and Pressure. The device further boasts Slimport compatibility, a Micro SIM slot, Notification light, Wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and UMTS/GSM/CDMA/LTE compatibility.
As for Gem, no leaks have surfaced as to what the device would look like, how it operates, but it will be compatible for use with devices running Android 4.3 or higher.
