Xbox One outselling Playstation 4 with its free games strategy?
In a bid to attract customers before the holidays and solidify a recent Xbox One sales boom that won’t go unnoticed by rivals, Microsoft Corp. is giving away two different special editions of the game Assassin’s Creed: Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, when purchasing the new Xbox One, with or without Kinect set-up.
Michael Pachter an analyst for Wedbush Morgan, recently revealed that Microsoft’s game giveaways have been hitting the target as far as sales are concerned. While Xbox One might have up until now trailed Sony Playstation 4 in terms of sales, Pachter reported that in September Xbox One outsold Playstation 4 by 325,000 to 250,000. It’s believed that this is only the second time that Xbox One has sold more consoles than PS4 in one month since their inception.
.
From November 2nd, at select retailers, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, which has become one of the biggest game franchises throughout the world having sold almost 80 million games, will be available at $399 and $499. The $499 deal consists of the standard Xbox console with Kinect sensor, while the $399 offer is without Kinect and will not come with code enabling download Dance Central Spotlight which is available at $499. Both editions come with the standard Xbox One chat headset and Xbox Live Gold membership for one month.
