Grid Net’s US Expansion, with 2nd Gen Release

Universal Smart Grid and Home software platform developer/hardware designer Grid Net announced the release of PolicyNet 2.2 – the second gen of its Universal Smart Grid software platform suite, first introduced back at Oct. ’09. The release was announced at the GreenBeat 2010 conference.

“Today’s emerging Smart Grid v2.0…will require a real-time, reliable, secure, open standards-based, carrier-grade communications infrastructure that enables utilities to deploy smart grids that optimize energy distribution, reduce distribution-related losses, implement system-wide demand response programs, enhance overall customer satisfaction, and lower their carbon footprint.”

PolicyNet is currently managing 2.7 million devices, as the new software platform features improved efficiency, load management, new eco-friendly solutions, greater cost efficiency and more. The PolicyNet 2.2 software suite on the other hand offers new additions such as added security, near-instant communications, scalability and lowered TCO, as the two combined display just how eager is Grid Net to break into the U.S market. That’s something it’s evidently been working on for quite some time.

Grid Net is certainly working hard on expanding its reach to even more companies and devices, but Sprint is already listed as an official company partner. New products are only one part of the Smart Grid and Smart Home software platforms’ developer’s expansion further into the market, as the more partnership and bigger names involved with and around its products the better. Sprint is also amidst an expansion, as Grid Net may just be looking at a golden opportunity.
