SAP Stays True To Social Enterprise Goal, Hires Veteran to Lead People-Centric Solutions

Social enterprise was a centerpiece at 2011 SAP Sapphire event. This is alongside the global enterprise software provider’s quest to push its mobile strategy to large-scale implementation.  SAP made a pact with investors that they will be bringing up the company’s current revenue to two times come 2015, by means of big data and mobile initiatives.

In this light, the German-based organization undergone an executive revampappointing Kevin Nix as the new head of Line of Business OnDemand Solutions. He will be tasked to oversee various LOB’s that have direct impact on people, customers and social enterprise as a whole.

SAP also recognizes the need to better create value for existing customers’ investments. This comes circumstantially in conjunction to a group’s heed for SAP to upgrade.  The SAP User Group in UK & Ireland conducted a survey that strongly suggested the need for SAP to improve their processes in showing the value of products and services, and intensify support systems to users.  The chairman of this group expressed his insight on the predominant results of the study they launched:

“It is heart-warming to see the positive acceptance of the work we are doing in the user group, but the survey shows that we and SAP still have a lot more work to do on the issues of SAP BusinessObjects, Enterprise Support and Customer Centres of Expertise.”

Overall, the social enterprise is a game changer, and SAP knows it. With the aid of big data and business analytics, this becomes a strong force that could alter the course of IT economics any given day.  One of the key services in current market trends as noted by Wikibon Senior Analyst Dave Vellante is the social platform.  SAP has known this for some time, blasting-off strategies to pound on their pursuit.  However, from their standpoint, the company looks at converging the cloud, mobile and social to create a more compelling portfolio. This is the reason behind the partnership with Sybase—a business intelligence global leader. Soon after, SAP extended its Sybase offering by allowing and authorizing SAP VARS to sell Sybase enterprise mobility apps.

Another essential portion of this social enterprise model, SAP pays utmost importance to HANA.  A revolutionary way on how the company will handle, manage and monetize data, HANA will be a gateway to next-level solutions in social enterprise. The immense future of this technology convinced SAP to expand its offering worldwide, tapping the Indian market as part of an international roll out.
