Has ServiceNow valuation exceeded its products? What we’re watching at #Know14

One of the most informational events we cover annually is ServiceNow’s Knowledge conference, with a unique culture that demonstrates a true bond between products and their customers. This year’s Know14 conference kicked off earlier this week in San Francisco, CA, and our live broadcast of the event begins today.

For attendees

 .

One of the largest gatherings for enterprise IT service automation, attendees will hear from industry experts as well as from customers from across the globe, spanning consumer goods, education, energy and utilities, finance, government, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

We will hear keynotes from ServiceNow’s most personable leaders including President and CEO Frank Slootman, ServiceNow Founder and Chief Product Officer Fred Luddy, and ServiceNow Senior Vice President of Engineering and Cloud Operations Dan McGee.

Attendees also have a chance to train under ServiceNow experts in its pre-conference sessions.  The pre-conference training extends a selection of the company’s most demanded courses, giving attendees a chance to plunge into new technical training coursework being delivered for the first time at Know14.  ServiceNow offers up to 70 percent discount, depending on the course and how early attendees sign up for Know14, on its normal training rates at Knowledge.

What to expect

 .

ServiceNow is all about cloud, IT-as-a-Service, SaaS. They’re experts at IT service management, and brought these capabilities to the cloud.  ServiceNow is currently looking to extend its expertise beyond the help desk, where it made a name for itself with its automation products. They’ve taken IT service management from mundane to simplified operations, and according to Wikibon founder and chief analyst, this ability to automate and communicate processes to the end user through a simplified, Amazon-like interface is the genius of ServiceNow.

But the big question remains: has ServiceNow’s valuation exceeded what they can deliver on the product side? ServiceNow stock has pulled back a bit in recent quarters, facing its share of naysayers.  Yet the company has powerful leadership behind it, starting with Slootman, ServiceNow’s rock star CEO. He’s laid out a vision for a global sales team and a growing company, and has already brought success to ServiceNow in the form of an initial public offering (IPO).

Slootman has experience weathering the ups and downs of enterprise IT, and will likely follow through with his plans to extend ServiceNow services into other areas of its customers’ organizations. As a result, Vellante sees ServiceNow gaining buzz around its disruption in IT service management, as it seeks out other application areas for its product lineup.
