QuickBooks Connect 2016, hosted by enterprise software company Intuit Inc., is currently underway at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, Calif.
SiliconANGLE will once again be at QuickBooks Connect with exclusive interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE. The event will focus on Intuit’s cloud-based efforts to extend services online. Developer tools will be a particular area of interest as Intuit builds its partner ecosystem in an increasingly competitive software as a service market. (* Disclosure below.)
Towards its ecosystem developments, Intuit last week announced a collaboration with Google’s G Suite, formerly Google for Work. The integration will allow G Suite users to schedule both work and meetings through Google Calendar, which will automatically appear in QuickBooks and ensure businesses can more easily invoice for billable hours.
With the launch of macOS Sierra, Apple Pay became available for online web payments. Following that news Intuit has added Apple Pay to its QuickBooks online service, ensuring invoices sent via the service can be paid via Apple Pay.
Guest speakers at QuickBooks Connect 2016 include various Intuit executives, like Scott Cook, founder and chairman of the executive committee; Brad Smith, chairman and chief executive officer; and Sasan Goodarzi, executive vice president and general manager of small business.
Other speakers include Malcolm Gladwell, author, journalist and global thinker; Michael Phelps, gold medalist, entrepreneur and philanthropist; and Alli Web, founder of Drybar Holdings LLC.
