WOMEN IN TECH

The cloud computing evolution: Advocating for women in technology

STEM education is essential for students as the world continues its fast-moving technology growth.

As a society, individuals and companies must find ways to use technology to bring value to the community, according to Tendü Yogurtçu (pictured), chief technology officer at Precisely Holdings LLC. And, now more than ever before, women are being given more opportunities to bring their talent and skills to the tech industry.

Yogurtçu is passionate about teaching the wonders of cloud technology to anyone and everyone, and she also advocates for the representation of women in tech.

Do something for the women in technology while being a woman in technology,” Yogurtcu stated.

Yogurtcu spoke with theCUBE industry analyst Lisa Martin for the “Special Program Series: Women of the Cloud,” during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed challenges for diversity in tech today. (* Disclosure below.)

Growth for the greater good

Business requirements have evolved over time to adapt to changing technologies. Yogurtçu’s company helps clients with a variety of concerns with data, including ensuring critical data can be easier to access for customers. They also make data more accessible for advanced analytics in the cloud for complex data platforms, such as financial services.

Data integrity is also now more critical than ever, so Precisely Holdings must provide a highly secure solution to customers. The company also provides a hybrid cloud solution to facilitate flexible deployment models.

“Forty-seven percent of every new record of data has at least one critical data error,” Yogurtçu stated.

These challenges hold companies back from delivering high-quality material, she added. And her company hopes to address this issue and solve challenges clients encounter to help them increase performance.

Yogurtçu also offers some advice to people looking to grow in their tech careers. First, stay current with the increasing amount of knowledge in order to be marketable. Second, be articulate in how your skills will serve as an asset to the growth of the business. Finally, give back to your community to help others.
