CISO Global and Halcyon join forces to ward off ransomware and extortion attacks

Cybersecurity companies CISO Global Inc. and Halycon Tech Inc. have entered into an alliance to enable enterprises to ward off ransomware and extortion attacks.

Under the partnership announced today, both companies will offer each other’s services to deliver integrated offerings designed to defeat ransomware and address other cybersecurity concerns, such as malware and phishing.

The two companies argue that ransomware is one of the most significant threats facing businesses, with limited solutions to protect endpoints and networks. They claim that existing monitoring solutions, which vary widely in quality, have done little to stem the explosive growth of ransomware. That’s where the new alliance comes in.

Nasdaq-listed CISO Global is a cybersecurity firm dedicated to cyber resilience, partnering with clients at each stage of their cybersecurity progress. The company aims to cultivate a culture of cybersecurity across organizations, providing solutions that integrate compliance and security to tackle complex cybersecurity challenges.

Halycon is a venture capital-based startup offering a cyber resilience platform to defeat ransomware. Halcyon’s platform takes a multitiered approach to defeat ransomware, including pre-execution ransomware prevention that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning engines to detect and block any known bad executables, such as off-the-shelf commodity ransomware.

Halcyon’s platform, with its AI and machine learning applications, will strengthen CISO Global’s suite of services. The companies hope the fusion of the services provided by the companies promises a fortified line of defense against ransomware, malware and phishing attacks.

By integrating Halcyon’s ransomware prevention capabilities into CISO Global’s multilayered approach, the partnership aims to provide a more holistic, effective and resilient strategy to combat cyberattacks. The alliance also aims to promote a culture of cyber resilience, raising awareness and increasing efficiency in tackling cybersecurity challenges across organizations.

“Halcyon is a pioneer in the anti-ransomware field and is purpose-built to combat encryption and data exfiltration,” Ashley Devoto, president and chief information security officer at CISO Global, said in a statement. “This partnership will open the door for exciting collaborations and will bolster the ransomware capabilities we offer our clients moving forward.”

Halcyon was last in the news in April when it raised $50 million in new funding to accelerate the development of its platform. Investors include SYN Ventures LLC, Dell Technologies Capital LLC and Corner Ventures LLC.
