AT&T joins WillJam Ventures to launch new cybersecurity business LevelBlue
AT&T Inc., in conjunction with WillJam Ventures LLC, today announced LevelBlue, a new standalone managed cybersecurity business focused on bolstering cyber resilience.
LevelBlue has been designed from the get-go to offer cybersecurity services that meet the evolving needs of businesses with capabilities that include managed security services, cybersecurity consulting, threat intelligence and continuous security operations center support. LevelBlue launches with more than 1,000 employees globally, with AT&T retaining a minority ownership stake and board representation in the new entity.
The new cybersecurity consulting company offers always-on assessment, planning and advisory services through its experienced consulting team, all previously AT&T security employees. The company’s consulting team members have an average of 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, hold the latest certifications and knowledge in working with organizations of various types and sizes, AT&T said.
Through LevelBlue’s consulting team, organizations can benchmark and identify their top cybersecurity priorities, design a highly secure dynamic computing environment, transform the network to optimize security, identify areas of cyber risk proactively and prescribe preventative tactics to protect critical assets.
LevelBlue also offers managed security services that address computing complexity. Through the new company’s managed security services, organizations can simplify their security needs by offering their team a strategic extension to help deliver greater insights. The LevelBlue managed services team can implement plans that drive efficiency in security operations, identify costs and complexity and associate them with business outcomes, pinpoint where to adapt and scale as the business evolves, and extend traditionally resource-constrained security teams for more insight.
In addition, LevelBlue’s threat intelligence platform can help proactively identify threats and accelerate threat detection and response. The platform is backed by the Open Threat Exchange, a community of over 235,000 security professionals who submit 20 million plus threat indicators daily so customers can effectively prepare for a potential data breach.
“Today marks a significant milestone as we officially launch LevelBlue, our standalone managed security services joint venture,” Rick Welday, executive vice president of AT&T Enterprise Markets, said ahead of the launch. “As we continue to embed more security capabilities into our core network, this venture simultaneously allows us to stay one step ahead of evolving cyber threats and foster innovation in the cybersecurity space.”
