Virtualization optimization leads HPE GreenLake’s charge in enhancing IT operations
As enterprises continue to grapple with the virtual machine sprawl, the need for virtualization optimization has become more pressing for maximal resource utilization.
Through out-of-the-box principles and cloud economics derived from HPE GreenLake, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. enables companies to maximize existing virtualization estates by eradicating pain points, such as the over provisioning of licenses, according to Rocco Lavista (pictured), vice president of worldwide sales and go-to-market leader for GreenLake at HPE.
“We boil it down to three basic principles for us at HPE,” Lavista said. “First is to optimize. How we’re going to help them optimize through cloud physics. Second, we’re also helping them with our private cloud solutions where the virtualization stack is included in that. Everything we do with our private cloud offers and everything we do in HPE GreenLake is cloud economics. After that, it’s about diversifying or giving them options across the right workload in the right virtualization stack based on what the expectation is for the customers.”
Lavista spoke with theCUBE Research’s Dave Vellante and Rebecca Knight at HPE Discover, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the importance of virtualization optimization and how HPE makes this a reality through products, such as HPE GreenLake. (* Disclosure below.)
How OpsRamp fits into the virtualization optimization picture
To achieve virtualization optimization, simplifying IT operations is crucial. HPE integrated OpsRamp for its unified monitoring across hybrid-cloud and multi-vendor environments, according to Lavista.
“After you’ve optimized, after you’ve helped simplify or given them choice of what they want to consume in that virtualization stack, then we can help them simplify their IT operations,” he stated. “When we bought OpsRamp a year ago, customers are getting ITOM capabilities inherent inside of GreenLake. Whether it’s a private cloud solution or GreenLake custom solution, we can deliver AI insights across their hybrid IT estate.”
HPE GreenLake has set the virtualization optimization ball rolling as enterprises continue turning to the hybrid cloud environment for better operational efficiency and business innovation. As a result, HPE GreenLake’s hybrid-by-design approach is paying off, Lavista pointed out.
“Again, everything about HPE GreenLake … how we’re helping customers solve their most complex business problems right now,” he said. “This week we announced HPE Private Cloud for AI. Getting tremendous feedback from our customers … really excited about that, and that is a main focus for us right now with our partnership in Nvidia.”
