Agentic workflows are no longer a future promise — they’re the new foundation of enterprise artificial intelligence. As autonomous systems shift from generating content to taking action, organizations are redesigning how they build, operate and scale.
This pivot is reshaping everything from infrastructure and developer tooling to team structure and business outcomes. Companies that once experimented with generative AI are now racing to deploy full-stack agentic systems capable of driving decisions and executing tasks. In a candid conversation with theCUBE’s John Furrier (pictured, left), Matt Garman (right), chief executive officer of Amazon Web Services Inc., explained how these shifts are redefining enterprise productivity — and why the next big leap in AI isn’t about smarter models but about building systems that can move.
AWS’ CEO Matt Garman talks about agentic workflows.
“Agentic is one of those things that’s changing that math equation,” Garman said. “We’ve got to help them and help customers understand where they can get that value. We’re doing a ton to roll out tools and capabilities, as well as infrastructure, that help customers make sure that they can get the value out of those things.”
Furrier spoke to Garman and other industry experts at the AWS Mid-Year Leadership Summit, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. The Leadership Summit, AWS Summit NYC, and theCUBE + NYSE Wired: AI + Cloud Leaders Media Week
events serve as a strategic “halftime report” for the AWS’ re:Invent conference in December, previewing how AWS plans to lead in agentic AI. (* Disclosure below.)
During the AWS Mid-Year Leadership Summit, analysts and experts discussed how agentic workflows are transforming enterprise AI by enabling systems to act autonomously, driving major changes across infrastructure, security, hybrid cloud, development and digital engagement.
Agentic workflows now power everything from Amazon Q Developer productivity boosts to AI-driven documentation and architecture planning. These capabilities enable 3x speed gains for builders and set a new bar for enterprise agility, according to Garman.
