Where Big data meets big iron: Syncsort talks growth, acquisitions and pipeline | #splunkconf15

Security is paramount to enterprise customers, and at this year’s Splunk .conf15 that theme hasn’t gone unnoticed. John Furrier and Jeff Frick, cohosts of theCUBE, from the SiliconANGLE Media team, sat down with the Josh Rogers, president of Syncsort, Inc., to discuss the happenings at his company and its relationship with Splunk, Inc.

Ironstream 1.3

Rogers clearly laid out that Syncsort is there to respond to customer needs and has a willingness to build relationships with companies to achieve customer ends. Ironstream 1.3, the next generation of Ironstream by Syncsort, utilizes a unique data set that can be processed by Splunk to provide instantaneous and real-time monitoring of data for an end client. The benefits are tremendous for security where the need for transparency, compliance and operability are critical.

Leading mainframes

It was clear after Furrier asked Rogers about the direction of Syncsort that the company is focused on continuing to be a market leader in the mainframe market. Rogers noted the strides made by his firm over the last year with regard to delivering a customer end experience and that its acquisitions have further added value to clients.

An especially important acquisition allows for network monitoring. He explained that its unique data can be sent through Splunk for analysis and then distributed to many more individuals than ever before. In his words, “Big Data meets big iron.”
