And he added that those who refuse to step into the Industrial Internet will risk getting left behind.

Nuance Mix brings voice control to IoT developers

Nuance Communications, Inc. announced the beta launch of Nuance Mix, a new tool that would help developers add speech recognition to their apps, mobile devices and even IoT devices. This allows for voice recognition to be naturally a part of the device or app, and not just an add-on feature that may or may not work smoothly with the app or device.

Walli is a crowdfunded smart wallet that alerts you if you leave your wallet or card behind

A wallet not only holds cash and cards, but also important identification cards, thus losing a wallet can be quite devastating. If you’re prone to losing your wallet, Walli — a smart wallet being crowdfunded on Indiegogo — may be the answer to your prayers. It connects to your smartphone’s Bluetooth and reminds you when you have left your wallet behind.

Afero aims to address fragmentation and insecurity in IoT

Veterans from Google, Apple and Nest have banded together and developed Afero (Afero, Inc.), a platform for IoT that incorporates a secure Bluetooth Smart module, scalable cloud services, mobile apps and a range of development tools.

The year is about to end and news is ripe about what we can expect in the first major tech trade show for 2016. For CES 2016, we can look forward to luxury appliances, a smart wallet, crowdsourced map generator, new smartphones and even virtual reality goggles.
