AVST’s CX-E service joins the cloud | #EC16

Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) announced at Enterprise Connect 2016 that its long-running CX-E service would be gaining a cloud deployment option. CX-E, which for more than 30 years has offered an enterprise-class Unified Communications (UC) set of business solutions, will now be available to users as an on-premise, cloud or hybrid model, with subscription-based formatting for the cloud-using options.

Citing “a critical time in the evolution of cloud technologies and growth predictions for UC cloud services,” AVST made clear that it considers the move one that is prompted by growth in the correspondent sectors of the business world at this time and in the projected future, as well as by connectivity infrastructure having matured to the point of reliable operability.

Noting “increased end-user acceptance of cloud-based acquisition approaches,” the company also pointed to the development as a way to address evidence that providers were drawing more and more on cloud services to handle and deliver their sales, marketing and development of products.

AVST’s president and CEO, Hardy Myers, said, “We’re bringing the freedom of choice to our customers,” and he emphasized that there would be flexibility for those customers to adjust the service model over time to best fit their needs.

The retention of all standard CX-E services for cloud-incorporating models was also accentuated with features such as voice messaging, scalable architecture, secure mobile clients, automated attendants and assistance, call centers and more listed as part of the offerings available to customers as the company moves forward.

With a projected availability date of Q2 2016 for cloud-based CX-E as AVST establishes the necessary groundwork and infrastructure, its clients will have ample time to consider the different angles and whether to adjust their UC model immediately or wait to see how early adopters fare. Myers was firmly optimistic about the potential of cloud service adoption, stating, “We have set the bar for UC interoperability in the enterprise, and now we are raising it.”

AVST will be in attendance at this year’s Enterprise Connect event, based in booth #1121, with CTO Tom Minifie moderating a panel discussion on Skype for Business transitioning on Tuesday, 3-8.
