Nomadesk Gets $7M: U.S.-Bound Cloud

A well know cloud computing company, Nomadesk, has received funding round of $7 million, set for its expansion. This funding has been provided by an existing shareholder Gimv, and a new investor BAMS Angel Fund. These funds will be utilized by Nomadesk for expanding its presence in North America.

Novadesk is already in partnership with some major operators of the world including Canada’s Bells, Belgium’s Telenet & Hostbasket and United States’ Novatel. It will now utilize the B-series funding to expand its team beyond Ghent & Belgium, especially in North American countries.

“We are convinced that Nomadesk has built the team and product to tap into the growing cloud storage and collaboration market. What’s more, the company has a strong pipeline of partners that can accelerate the company’s growth. As a technology fund we want to be front and center while this software-as-a- service market takes shape. We are pleased to participate in the investment and to be part of Nomadesk’s success”, says Bart Luyten, General Partner of BAMS Angels Fund II.

Besides BAMS, Gimv is also confident enough about the success of the Nomadesk & its services. As according to a statement by Nomadesk’s CEO Filip Tack, they are quite happy with the confidence of investors. “Overall, we see the need for new types of value added SaaS increasing due to workforce mobility, virtual offices, synchronization of multiple devices, data loss protection, etc.We have the service, team and funding to adequately respond to the need of these ‘nomadic’ workers”, says Filip Tack.
