Dell EMC World 2016 is currently underway at the Austin Convention Center in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas. SiliconANGLE will once again be at Dell EMC World 2016 with exclusive interviews from our roving news desk, theCUBE*.
This year’s event includes the addition of EMC Corp. following Dell Technologies Inc.’s $67 billion acquisition, which was finalized last month. The extended bid process, which was announced in October last year, was approved by EMC shareholders in July, but was further delayed awaiting approval from China’s Ministry of Commerce. During its interviews, theCUBE will explore why China played such an integral role in the EMC acquisition.
Dell released its first product, following the acquisition of EMC, in mid-September, in the form of a new software defined storage offering. The ScaleIO Ready Node is an all-flash SDS product that runs on Dell EMC PowerEdge x86 servers.
Dell EMC World 2016 will also likely focus on the strategy the company has planned for the cloud platforms that it now owns as part of the acquisition.
The lineup of speakers at this year’s Dell EMC World event includes Dell executives, Michael Dell, chairman and chief executive officer and Jeremy Burton, chief marketing officer. Other speakers include Malcolm Gladwell, author and staff writer at New Yorker Magazine; Kevin Kelly, author and IT visionary; and Tien Tzuo, chief executive officer of Zuora Inc.
Molly Fletcher, chief executive officer of the Molly Fletcher Company; and Aarti Shahani, tech reporter on NPR’s Business Desk complete the lineup.
