Facebook has recently updated the profile information page for its users and the same was reported by a software engineer, Josh Wiseman on the official blog of the social networking site. The new version of your profile page is somewhat “open” in its approach, and shares a lot of information with your friends, social graph, etc. The profile page starts with the quick overview of your education, location, workplace and recent conversations.
The updated profile page will have several other improvements and added perks, such as featured friends, a list of recently tagged photos of yours, and new experiences. The improved friends & photos page comes with an infinite scroll feature for more convenient browsing. While some of these changes have already taken place, others are in full swing and will be completed by early next year.
It seems that the FB is all set to make itself better, expanding to become a larger network across the globe. While so many developments are going on at Facebook’s end, an open Facebook alternative Diaspora has released its code to establish and expand its realm. Although it is not as popular as FB, Diaspora is expected to cause some user-attrition to the social networking giant. As its several functions are quite similar to Facebook with the added advantage of simplicity in its working, we can expect it to jazz up soon.
