Oracle Commerce Cloud simplifies business at Elaine Turner | #oow15
The number of cloud platform services offered by Oracle continues to grow, and another system being utilized by the enterprise is the Oracle Commerce Cloud that allows businesses of any size a customized solution to eCommerce.
Carrie Leader, director of Ecommerce at Elaine Turner, shared with John Furrier and Dave Vellante, cohosts of theCUBE from the SiliconANGLE Media team, how migration to the Oracle Commerce Cloud has aided Elaine Turner and helped the company achieve its goals in the cloud era.
Manual to automated
The business process for supply chain management, sales and general services were all “very manual,” according to Leader. One of the biggest benefits of the company’s movement away from a “stale” ecommerce platform of the past into the Oracle Commerce Cloud platform was the “automation.”
This automation left issues of inventory control, order management and distribution, and other logistical aspects to be automated, simplified and streamlined, providing a very integrated approach to business.
In the case of Elaine Turner, Leader said its biggest selling point was its “brand and experience.” The company was looking to bring the highly personal and unique experience of its store to its digital presence, as well as expand the recognition.
Given the platform’s ability to provide unique customization’s for every brand and business, Leader noted the company can create that “in-store experience” digitally and produce new content that doesn’t appear just as a template. Particularly interesting was that when Leader looked at other consumers of the Oracle Commerce Cloud, that they had almost a “different product,” as there was so much difference and unique capability.
